An Irish Airman Forsees His Death

The theme of W.B. Yeats An Irish Airman Forsees His Death  is Patriotism. The narrator doesn’t love who he is fighting for, which at this time would be assumed as Great Britain. He fights those he loves, which would be Ireland or an area close to it.
